The New Mexico Department of Health has finalized regulations for the registry
identification cards and a production/distribution system for its medical
cannabis program. The Department will accept applications from nonprofit
businesses interested in producing and distributing medical cannabis for
patients in New Mexico. Qualified patients can also apply to produce medical
cannabis for themselves.
a.. Application Requirements for a Licensed Producer
b.. Application Requirements for Licensure of Qualified Patients to Produce
Cannabis Plants for Personal Use Only
NOTE: There is no application form to be completed. In order to be considered
for a production license, you must submit all the requirements outlined in the
Application Requirements for a Licensed Producer or Application Requirements for
Licensure of Qualified Patients to Produce Cannabis Plants for Personal Use Only
documents available in the links above. The documents are very specific in the
Application Requirements for Submitting a Proposal. Incomplete proposals will
not be considered for a production license.
The New Mexico Department of Health's Medical Advisory Board held a public
hearing on January 15th to consider petitions requesting new eligible conditions
for enrollment in the New Mexico Medical Cannabis Program. The Medical Advisory
Board has made their recommendations to the Department's Health Secretary, who
will make the final decision on all petitions. Once a final decision is reached,
the information will be posted on this website. The next hearing to consider
additional eligible conditions for enrollment will be in early April. Once a
final date and location are set, the information will be posted on this website.
